What to do if someone is tested Covid 19 positive?

The Ministry of Health has created dedicated pages in order to carry out the right steps, to access documents and to facilitate the tracing of contact cases according to whether you have been tested positive for COVID-19 or if have been in contact with COVID+ person.

You are vulnerable

suffering from one of the following diseases:

  • Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes;
  • cardiovascular disease;
  • chronic respiratory diseases;
  • cancer;
  • immune weakness due to disease or therapy.

1) You have symptoms (fever, difficulty breathing, cough)

  • You must immediately go into self-isolation.
  • Contact your doctor by telephone.
  • If he/she is not available or if you do not have any, call: 247-65533 - Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm.
  • In a life-threatening emergency (aggravated symptoms), call 112.
  • Following a positive test result, complete the positive case report form or contact case form in order to facilitate the tracing of high-risk contacts.

2) You have no symptoms

  • Apply the recommended protective measures daily.

BUT IF,
A) You have occasional contact with a confirmed COVID-19 person :

  • Put yourself on a self-quarantine for 7 days and check for symptoms of :
    • Fever (temperature taken 2x/day);
    • Breathing difficulties;
    • Coughing.

B) You live under the same roof as a confirmed COVID-19 person
or you have had intimate relations with a confirmed person (i.e. less than 2 meters for more than 15 minutes or for example a handshake).

STRICT RECOMMENDATION

  • Put yourself in a self-quarantine for 7 days.
    Isolate yourself from the infected person and check for the following symptoms:
    • Fever (temperature taken 2x/day);
    • Difficulty breathing;
    • Coughing.
  • If any of these symptoms appear,
    • You must immediately go into self-isolation.
    • Contact your doctor by telephone.
    • If he/she is not available or if you do not have any, call: 247-65533 - Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm.
    • In a life-threatening emergency (aggravated symptoms), call 112.
    • Following a positive test result, complete the positive case report form or contact case form in order to facilitate the tracing of high-risk contacts.

 

You are not vulnerable

1) You have symptoms (fever, difficulty breathing, cough)

  • You must immediately go into self-isolation.
  • Contact your doctor by telephone.
  • If he/she is not available or if you do not have any, call: 247-65533 - Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm.
  • In a life-threatening emergency (aggravated symptoms), call 112.
  • Following a positive test result, complete the positive case report form or contact case form in order to facilitate the tracing of high-risk contacts.

2) You have no symptoms

  • Apply the recommended protective measures daily.

BUT IF,
A) You have occasional contact with a confirmed COVID-19 person :

  • Continue to apply the recommended protective measures daily.

B) You live under the same roof as a confirmed COVID-19 person
or you have had intimate relations with a confirmed person (i.e. less than 2 meters for more than 15 minutes or for example a handshake) :

  • Week 1: Put yourself in a self-quarantine for 7days. Isolate yourself from the infected person and check for the following symptoms:
    • Fever (temperature taken 2x/day);
    • Difficulty breathing;
    • Coughing.
  • Week 2: Continue self-monitoring for 7 days, following the same rules.

If symptoms appear,

  • You must immediately go into self-isolation.
  • Contact your doctor by telephone.
  • If he/she is not available or if you do not have any, call: 247-65533 - Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm.
  • In a life-threatening emergency (aggravated symptoms), call 112.
  • Following a positive test result, complete the positive case report form or contact case form in order to facilitate the tracing of high-risk contacts.

C) If you were in close or direct contact with a confirmed COVID-19 person
(i.e. less than 2 meters for more than 15 minutes or a handshake for example).

  • Put yourself on self-monitoring for 7 days, checking for symptoms of :
    • Fever (temperature taken 2x/day);
    • Difficulty breathing;
    • Coughing.

If symptoms appear,

  • You must immediately go into self-isolation.
  • Contact your doctor by telephone.
  • If he/she is not available or if you do not have any, call: 247-65533 - Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and weekends from 10am to 6pm.
  • In a life-threatening emergency (aggravated symptoms), call 112.
  • Following a positive test result, complete the positive case report form or contact case form in order to facilitate the tracing of high-risk contacts.

 

If you have a positive case in your premises

  • Make sure you clean up properly:
    • Desk and accessories;
    • Door handles;
    • Switches;
    • Elevator knobs;
    • Stair railings.
  • Close the premises for 24 hours

In general, do not exchange between colleagues:

  • Mice and keyboards;
  • Pens and notepads.
